Flying in for a fitting

Today we are going to visit one of our local airfields since moving up from Bodmin Airfield to somewhere a little more accessible for our customers. We are going to meet a Pilot who has a very particular set of requirements so Boston Aeroclub is our destination.
Its a beautiful spring day with scattered Cumulous and a light Easterly so we are meeting the owner of a CTSW who has kindly agreed to fly in for a first fitting. We carry out these fittings when an aircraft is non standard or new to us (our first fit after making a pattern) or the owner has some very specific wishes.
We are fitting a full set of covers in Odyssey outdoor material. Because its a fitting we don't use all the straps, we are simply locating things like fuel breathers, aerial points and cover joints. The wing tips on the CTSW are an area that need extra attention as they can make covers difficult to fit. Today they fit well, we cut holes in the wing covers and accurately locate the fuel breathers. We are often generous with our fuse to cockpit attachments and we find out we need to remove 4" to create a good fit.
After making additional observations and a welcome cuppa our pilots decide its time to grab lunch at nearby Fenland so they fire up and enjoy the short flight south. The next bit is down to us to affect the changes, the next time we meet up will be for delivery.
